Leadership Team

Walter Brown
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Walter BrownAs Chief Executive Officer of Azgard Group, Mr. Brown is responsible for driving Azgard’s vision, strategy and execution. Mr. Brown brings over 20 years of experience in the Cyber Security and Information Technology sectors, performing risk assessments, cyber investigations, and managing cyber operations in senior leadership roles for the public and private sectors.

He served seven years in the Marine Corps supporting the aviation operations at the Marine Corps Base Cherry Point located in North Carolina and supported the IT requirements for the Programs and Resources Division located at the Pentagon. His attention to details earned him the respect of his peers and leadership positions, and from his hands-on experience and successes, he developed a passion for cyber and technical operations. During his time as a Department of Defense (DoD) supervisor, he was a part of a tiger team responsible for rewriting DoD Instruction to incorporate cyber activities into Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) inspections. Mr. Brown assisted in the operational improvement of a wireless detection system that can locate cellular and Wi-Fi devices within facilities or within a location perimeter. He pioneered the implementation of the first wireless location system in a federal facility.

Mr. Brown managed a TSCM division for a DoD agency conducting missions both overseas and throughout the United States. During that time, he created a cyber counterintelligence (CI) program for the DoD agency. The cyber CI program ran parallel missions with the TSCM division, which resulted in comprehensive security assessments and proactive cyber management capabilities. These assessments resulted in effective solutions being developed to strengthen the overall security of critical assets and customer data.

Following his successful DoD career, Mr. Brown joined forces with one of the most recognized TSCM practitioners on the East coast, Howard Johnson of TSCM Security Services LLC. He performed both TSCM and Cyber activities with TSCM Security Services and secured contracts with the Department of Education and commercial businesses for the company.

In 2012 Mr. Brown founded the cyber security firm Azgard Group, to help organizations achieve a cyber security program that will assist and protect all of their critical assets from cyber threats. The company’s goal is to ensure all organizations acquire the necessary cyber security platforms needed to safeguard their information and protect their IT and business operations assets from current and future threats.

Mr. Brown has protected critical cyber environments worth millions of dollars by developing dynamic and efficient programs, processes, and protocols, as well as identifying and implanting best-of-breed cyber technical solutions. He understands that one size does not fit all businesses or agencies, and uses his experience in government, airports, schools, and commercial markets to customize the services and solutions Azgard provides, as well as stay one step ahead of the ever evolving cyberattack environment faced by clients to provide them with advice and solutions to address new internal and external threats quickly and effectively.
